A LITTLE ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
From Our Family To Yours

Kimura started AOZORA Support in April of 2011 after deciding to leave the corporate world. “I was traveling around on the earth in my youth and as a foreigner I was helped, supported by locals in each place. I felt very indebted to them and wanted to repay them someday, “Kimura said.
The business specializes in junk removal, moving service, property clean out and light demolition.

Kimura and his wife relocated to Tokyo over 15 years ago, and chose to open AOZORA Support because they knew Tokyo was where they wanted to stay. Kimura said his wife chose the name for the business, and his son chose the word a “beautiful blue sky color in Tokyo is called AOZORA in Japanese friendly-sound. Furthermore, Kimura and his wife strongly felt that foreigners living in Tokyo needed the support of local Japanese people. And Now it’s Kimura’s turn to help them.

HOW DID YOU COME ACROSS THE IDEA FOR THIS BUSINESS?

“I’d been in sals manufacturing business for over 10 years, working as a sales manager for foreigners,” Kimura said. ” I always wanted to help foreigners live in Tokyo. Business locations come and go; I wanted to do something unique. So I started researching and found that there are places that do junk removal all over the country. I’d been in sales my whole life. I had experience in construction and demolition cases, and starting my own business seemed like a fun thing to do.”

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

“This business is a very professional one,” Kimura said. “We offer removal services for residential and commercial customers. Services range from full service junk removal, moving service and light demolition.”

WHAT ARE YOU NOTICING AS ITEMS PEOPLE FREQUENTLY GET RID OF?

“We’re considering collecting office furniture, old, vintage, and antique furniture for recycling purposes. In today’s environment, it’s usually cheaper to replace rather than repair these items. There’s a cost associated with disposing of these pieces, and there’s also a long waiting period for them to be collected. Furthermore, the procedures are highly complicated for foreigners, and there’s no support available to assist with that.”

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE ITEMS ONCE THEY’VE BEEN PICKED UP?

“Our goal at AOZORA Support is to recycle, reuse, resale or repurpose as many items as possible. We recycle metal, wood and old furniture. Items are sold to people who need them, donated to non-profits. We have also donated office items to schools & Children’s homes in the area. We try our best to find a way to repurpose as many items/materials as possible.”
